Whitelotus Design appearing at Artfest Kingston

Edina Racz's line of contemporary jewellery features sculptural wire-woven gemstone necklaces, earrings, rings and cuff bracelets all handcrafted using time-honoured skills.

Edina makes all of here jewellery in her small home studio where it is designed. She transforms materials such as silver wire, sheet metal, stones and glass into unique and one-of-a-kind wearable art. As a graphic designer, Edina worked in the abstract concepts of usability, flow, white space and message. While it is easy to see the influences of graphic design in Edina’s linear wire jewelry, the wirer ahs expanded the dimensions of become a sculptural outlet for her to explore a new design aesthetic – the blank pages have been replaced by ears, wrists, necks and fingers. Her use of color flows from her emphasis on contrast, structure and balance – tension and kineticism – all expressed in her handcrafted constructions.
